OUR
HISTORY
The Children’s School was founded in 1992 as a partnership between Community School District 15 and the citywide special education District 75. It was the first public full inclusion elementary school in New York City, educating general education and special education students from many different neighborhoods, together, in every classroom.
We believe that students learn best and reach their potential when provided with a safe, nurturing, accessible, and supportive environment. This is possible when all stakeholders work collaboratively and are engaged in the shared creation of goals centered around instruction that is rigorous, differentiated, enriched, and inclusive for all.
