About Stay & Play
Our afterschool program is available to all students who attend The Children’s School at the 512 Carroll St site (grades preK–5th). Stay & Play separates students into grade-level groups (preK-kindergarten, 1st-2nd, 3rd-5th).
Programming
Students in 1st-5th grades have an hour of homework time and plus an activity of their choice. Activities include sports such as soccer and football; camp-style games such as obstacle courses; and our rec room where students can read, play board games, or create art.
The preK and kindergarten early childhood model is structured like a group play-date. This program encourages play and friendship with all. Children have a snack, play outside, play in an early education classroom, enjoy a group book reading, and/or make crafts. As early childhood students typically do not have homework, there is no homework time – just play, play, play!
Enrichment
We partner with community organizations and PS 372 teachers to provide enrichment options in conjunction with the after-school program. Offerings change with each session but may include science, art, dance, music, writing, games, sports, and crafts. Schedules, capacity, and costs vary.
You will need to select enrichments at the time of registration. First, sign up for the basic afterschool program for your child’s grade. Then add enrichment option(s) to your cart.
To see the latest enrichment offerings, visit our registration page.

Stay & Play FAQs
How should I submit payment?
You must pay by credit card during registration for all programs. You can choose a one-time payment or in installments. The first payment will be charged when you register.
Is financial aid available?
If you require financial aid, you must reach out to the program director PRIOR to registration. We will coordinate the financial aid process, which includes filling out financial aid forms and approval by the board. Email afterschool@ps372pta.org for more details.
Are snacks provided?
Yes. All students are offered a DOE-provided snack. You are also welcome to send in a snack with your student. There are no nuts allowed.
Can I do drop-ins?
Yes. We encourage you to register at least 24 hours prior to your drop-in. You may select days as you do, which is a great option if you don’t need afterschool care for the entire session.
What enrichment options will be offered this year?
Enrichment programs are now offered in conjunction with the afterschool program. Students have the choice of many different offerings, including science, art, dance, music, writing, sports, crafts and more!
When you register for afterschool, you can add on enrichment programs. Please note that enrichment classes have capacity limits.
What if my child has an IEP?
If your child has an IEP, please make note of that in the medical and/or social/emotional notes section of your account. We will send home a HIPAA form for parents to sign, allowing the after school director to receive information from the school regarding a student’s IEP. This is very important as it will give afterschool staff helpful information when working with children with certain needs.
What if my child has an Epipen, inhaler, or another medical device?
If your child has an Epipen, inhaler, or any other medical concern, please note that in the medical section of your account. Additionally, please let us know if your child carries a device or if there is one in the nurse’s office.
